EVENTIT connects, inspires and educates MICE professionals from across the UK and beyond offering a comprehensive range of events throughout the year. For their summer webinar series focused on communication, Laura was interviewed by EVENTIT’s founder Judith Wilson. The program was watched live by event professionals from throughout the UK and Europe while together, Judith and Laura discussed Laura’s journey through events and how in Laura’s mind their mission is to empower others.
Highlights from Laura’s interview
Laura reflected and remarked on her lessons from serving as The White House Director of Events for the Clinton Administration. She discussed how positive, productive and powerful events are certainly still today the most effective way to communicate a message, to provoke emotion and inspire change. Laura also touched on how “we don’t host events, we host guests” and she honed in on how it is the guest experience that determines the success of any event no matter its size, location or budget. Lastly, Laura spoke on what she believes we can take from the pandemic to build into our programing today to be more effective and even more powerful moving forward.
